The Young Crab and his Mother

 The Young Crab and his Mother The mother crab always advises the young crab to walk straight but the young crab cannot walk straight. He always walks sideways. 'Walk straight, my son', says the mother crab. The young crab tries but he cannot. So he says to his mother, 'Dear mother, please teach me walking. First you walk straight. I will watch you and learn.' The mother crow tries and tries. But she cannot walk straight. Whenever she attempts, she falls down. Thus they understand that walking straight is not for crabs. 

The Tortoise and the Ducks

 The Tortoise and the Ducks A tortoise lived in a pond. He is very slow. He cannot move fast. He saw many animals move very fast. But he cannot do so. He wants to see the world like other animals. He is very sorry. He told his problem to the ducks. The ducks said, 'Don't worry. We will help you.' They took a stick and told the tortoise to hold the stick firmly with his teeth. They also warned him not to speak anything. They started flying with the tortoise. Everybody was surprised. A crow met them on the way. He was astonished to see them. 'This must be the king of tortoises,' he said. 'Why not?' said the tortoise happily and as soon as he said this he lost his hold on the stick and fell down. Thus he died.  

The Wolf and the Kid

 The Wolf and the Kid The evening sun is going down. The flock of goats is grazing in the forest. They have now started their homeward journey. The kid has newly grown little horns. So he now thinks he has become a billy goat and he can move alone in the jungle. His mother calls him but he ignores the call. Soon he finds that it is getting dark. All the goats have gone far away from him. He now starts fearing and bleating. A wolf comes to him from the bush nearby. The kid knows that his death is nearing. But he makes a plan. He says, 'Mr. Wolf, I know you will eat me and now it is your right. But please sing a little, so that I can have a little dance before dying. This will merry me.' The wolf thinks it is a good idea to have a little music before a feast. So he stats piping. In the calm evening environment, the dogs of the shepherd hears the music and recognises it. They know that a wolf sings such music before feasting. So they rush towards the wolf. Seeing them, the wolf ru...

The Fisherman and the Little Fish

 The Fisherman and the Little Fish Throughout the day fisherman toiled in the river but found nothing but a small fish. The fisherman kept it in his basket. The small fish said, 'Mr. Fisherman, why are taking me to your home. I am not sufficient even for a single person. But if you leave me, when I will be bigger I will be sufficient for the whole family. So let me go now. Catch me again when I will grow bigger.' The fisherman said, Something is better than nothing. What is the guarantee if I will be able to catch you later.' So he did not leave it.  Next

The Hare and his Ears

 The Hare and his Ears Once a lion, while hunting goats, was badly hurt by the horns of a goat. Thenceforth, he is very angry with the animals which have horns. He announced, 'Those animals that have horns must leave the forest within three days or they will have to face dire consequences.' All the animals with horns were leaving the forest as quickly as possible. The hare has big ears. He was worried. He had nightmare if the lion thought his horns to be horns. At noon, he was grazing in the sun and saw his shadow. They seemed to be just like horns. So he immediately left the forest. 

The Man and the Satyr

 The Man and the Satyr Once a man was travelling in the forest and saw a satyr. He made friends with him. Both of them where living together in the hut in the forest. Once day they were coming to their home. It was too cold. The man was blowing on his fingers. The satyr asked, 'Why are you blowing on your fingers?' 'To warm my fingers,' said the man. They came home. They sat for eating porridge. The porridge was very hot. It was just taken from the oven. The man started blowing at the porridge. The satyr asked, 'Why are you blowing at the porridge?' 'To cool the porridge', replied the man. The Satyr sprang to his feet and made for the door. He said, 'Good bye; a man who blows both warm and cool with the same breath cannot be my friend.'

The Ant and the Dove

 The Ant and the Dove The dove was sitting on the branch of a tree. As he looked down, he saw an ant struggling in the river water to keep itself alive. The ant was trying to get to the shore but could not. The dove was kind. He dropped a straw close to the ant. She saw it. She rode on the straw and started floating on the water and at last she could get to the shore. After stepping on the land, she saw that a hunter was trying to shoot the dove, his saver. When the hunter was about to shoot, the ant stung the hunter. As a result, the hunter missed the aim. Then the dove saw the hunter and flew away to the safety. Thus the ant returned the kindness of the dove.
