The Wolf and the Kid

 The Wolf and the Kid

The evening sun is going down. The flock of goats is grazing in the forest. They have now started their homeward journey. The kid has newly grown little horns. So he now thinks he has become a billy goat and he can move alone in the jungle. His mother calls him but he ignores the call. Soon he finds that it is getting dark. All the goats have gone far away from him. He now starts fearing and bleating. A wolf comes to him from the bush nearby. The kid knows that his death is nearing. But he makes a plan. He says, 'Mr. Wolf, I know you will eat me and now it is your right. But please sing a little, so that I can have a little dance before dying. This will merry me.' The wolf thinks it is a good idea to have a little music before a feast. So he stats piping. In the calm evening environment, the dogs of the shepherd hears the music and recognises it. They know that a wolf sings such music before feasting. So they rush towards the wolf. Seeing them, the wolf runs away. He blames himself, for a little kid has befooled him.
